We have been thinking carefully about the features of different animals. Does it have two legs? Does it have a tail? Does the animal live in water? Can it fly? Does it have fur? We then grouped animals with a particular feature together. Finally we challenged our classmates to add any animals to the group that they spotted with the feature we named e.g. has stripes. Can you tell why the animals in the hoop are grouped together?

Year 1 enjoyed reading, hearing and learning poems on National Poetry Day.

Year 1 have explored the art of printing using various objects. We had fun making patterns and seeing the shapes everyday classroom objects could make.

Year 1 have launched their exciting topic of Paws, Claws and Whiskers by meeting a rabbit!
